"I design for women and men who need clothing and accessories that can keep up with their fast-paced lives and make them feel like their best selves."
American fashion designer Michael David Kors was born Karl Anderson Jr. on August 9, 1959. He serves as the brand's honorary chairperson and chief creative officer. Michael Kors sells women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, accessories, watches, jewellery, footwear, and fragrance. From 1997 through 003, Kors served as the French fashion label Celine's first women's ready-to-wear designer. In January 2019,
Capri Holdings Limited replaced Michael Kors Holdings Limited as its legal name. Capri Holdings Limited's three founder-led brands are Michael Kors, Jimmy Choo, and Versace.
When Kors, was young, he developed a passion for fashion. His mother believed that her modelling career may have played a role in his enthusiasm for the clothing industry. For his mother's second marriage, Michael, then five years old, even redesigned her wedding gown. As a teenager, Kors started making clothing and selling them out of his parents' basement, which he nicknamed the Iron Butterfly.
He started attending the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City in 1977. But after just nine months, he left and began working at Lothar's, a store on 57th Street in Midtown Manhattan, where he started as a salesperson and eventually rose to become the store's designer and head of visual display.

In 1997, with a popular ready-to-wear brand and a profitable accessory line, Kors revitalized the French fashion label, Celine. To focus on his own business, he departed Celine on October 2003 and in 2002, he debuted his menswear collection.

The use of Saffiano leather has become almost a trademark of Michael Kors bags. This type of leather is extremely durable; water-resistant and scratch-resistant, making it ideal for use with leather accessories such as wallets and sling bags, for example. Quilted puffer-style jackets are crafted from recycled polyester and filled with a combination of down and feathers, for warmth. With collections like the Michael Kors Collection, Michael Michael Kors, and Michael Kors Mens, Michael Kors designs women’s and men’s clothing and accessories that can keep up with their fast-paced lives and make them feel like their best selves.
